Biggest ever U.S. trade team to visit India

CHENNAI: The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce will facilitate the visit of the biggest ever U.S. trade delegation to India in the last week of November.

"The delegation, comprising 138 U.S. companies and more than 230 businessmen, will visit key Indian cities, including Chennai, to explore opportunities in trade and commerce. The chamber is working with the U.S. Department of Commerce to arrange for the delegates to meet with Indian counterparts," R. Anand, chairman of the chamber's Tamil Nadu branch, said at a seminar on `Doing Business with USA' organised by the chamber on Friday.

The chamber will also form part of the Business Executive Programme of the U.S. Consulate in Chennai to facilitate in the quick processing of business visas to the U.S.

The U.S. was India's largest trading partner. Indo-US bilateral trade in goods was worth $24 billion and India's software services exports were around $10 billion, he added.
