HYDERABAD: A 44-year-old man died while 10 others, all working on a road being laid to the new international airport at Shamshabad, had a miraculous escape after a motorcyclist rammed into them at Shankerpally crossroads on Saturday. Victim Shashinath Mukhia was working on the road from Shankerpally crossroads to the airport when the accident occurred. Mukhia, who suffered severe injuries, was declared brought dead to a hospital. All the workers belong to Bihar, according to the police. Workers tried to nab the motorist but failed. They, however, found a mobile phone on the spot, which was handed over to the police. Suspecting it belonged to the motorcyclist, the police are making efforts to trace him. A 70-year-old woman, who received grievous injuries after she was knocked down by a van near her house at Jeedimetla on Tuesday, died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital on Sunday. A lorry driver -- Munawar Khan of Krishna district -- was killed after an unidentified vehicle hit him at R.C. Puram in Vanasthalipuram on Saturday.
