Four more held in murder case

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: A special police team of Bangalore district arrested four persons in connection with the murder of Doddakallasandra Village Panchayat President B.M. Muniswamy.

Muniswamy was murdered by a nine-member gang, allegedly led by Srinivas alias Kulla Seena, over political rivalry on October 8 this year near Gubbalala on Kanakapura Road. Earlier, the police arrested Seena, Shantha Kumar and Murthy, who are in judicial custody.

On November 24, the police arrested Rashi Kumar, Preetam alias Hariprasad, Munna alias Mohammed Peer in Bangalore and Aruna alias Pushparaj in Mysore.

The police said they recovered four swords allegedly used to murder Muniswamy and the foreign-made pistol of Muniswamy taken away by the accused.

The jurisdictional court remanded the four accused to judicial custody on November 25.

The district police are on the lookout for two other accused who are at large.
