Ganja seized, woman arrested

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvallam police, on Sunday, arrested a 44-year-old woman on the charge of peddling ganja. The accused has been identified as Girija of Vellayani.

The police said nearly 100 g of ganja was seized from her. She was produced before the court on the charge of violating the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.

Special prayers at Vettukad church

Thiruvananthapuram: Special prayers were offered at the Madre De Dues Church at Vettukad as part of the Christu Raja festival. Bishop of Thiruvananthapuram Soosapakiam led the prayers. More than 10,000 people attended the special prayers, which commenced at 6.30 a.m.

Devotees partook in the feast organised as part of the celebrations. The festival will conclude on December 1. — Staff Reporter

EDUSAT terminal to be opened today

Thiruvananthapuram: Director of Public Instruction M. Sivasankar will inaugurate the EDUSAT terminal at Nirmala Bhavan School on Monday.

The terminal is being set up as part of the State Government's IT-enabled education initiative. Deputy Collector Biju Prabhakar will speak on the role of EDUSAT in school education. — Staff Reporter
