Woman dies as vehicle overturns

BANGALORE: A woman died on the spot and five were injured when a vehicle carrying concrete mixer machine overturned in the Audugodi Traffic limits on Sunday.

The police gave the name of the dead as Masiyamma (21), a construction worker and native of Gulbarga district. The incident occurred on Agara-Jakkasandra Road. According to the police, there were six people in the vehicle, excluding the driver. Three women workers were inside the cabin. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned. The injured have been identified as Lakshamma, Mallavva, Mahadevappa, Hanumantha and Marilinga.

Taken away

A sum of Rs. 65,000 and valuables estimated at Rs. 80,000 were reportedly taken away from a house in the Yelahanka Police Station limits.

The police said the incident occurred at the house of Padmanabha at Balajikrupa Layout in Hegde Nagar.
