Restore bus stop Sir, There was a BMTC bus stop near Manipal Hospital on Airport Road in front of Seventh Day Adventist School which was withdrawn owing to the construction of the flyover on Airport Road. Since work on the flyover is nearing completion, the authorities concerned should restore the bus stop. There is no stop between Murugeshpalya and Kodihalli and the distance between these two stops is more than one km. Restoring the bus stop will help the residents of Rustam Bagh Layout as they have to walk a considerable distance to reach the bus stop. V. Padmanabhan, Bangalore English in schools Sir, The Government's decision to introduce English from the first standard in Kannada-medium schools from the next academic year should be appreciated. The decision will enable rural students to compete better with their urban counterparts. The know-ledge of English is essential for getting gainful employment. R. Prahlad Rao, Bangalore Repair road Sir, The authorities concerned have finally given the clearance to cover the drainages on the main road of Ramachandrapura, Jalahalli Post. However, the potholes on the main road are not attended to. The entire stretch of the road, including in front of the CMC ward office, is full of potholes. Driving on this road during night times is difficult. The condition is worse during rains. It is time the authorities concerned filled the potholes for the safety of the people. S. Raja Reddy, Bangalore More buses Sir, The route no. 2A, which plies between J.P. Nagar and Kempegowda Bus Station, with a frequency of one hour has become highly erratic. The authorities should increase its frequency of the service to half-hour instead. The authorities concerned should increase the frequency of buses plying to Shivajinagar. Of late, route no. 2A is not on time causing inconvenience to commu-ters, especially during peak hours. Adding to this problem is the traffic congestion on 24th Main Road of J.P. Nagar and buses are forced to travel slower. The authorities are request-ed to increase the frequency of buses on this route and regulate the traffic better. N. Raju, Bangalore Readers can also email their letters to letters. bangalore@ thehindu.co.in
