Toddler dies as hot water falls on her

HYDERABAD:
An-18-month-old baby girl who suffered serious burns after a steel utensil containing hot water fell on her at Saidabad on Thursday died while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) on Sunday.
Baby Arshiya Fathima, daughter of Abdul Gafoor, crawled and tried to sit on the utensil after her mother Razia kept it outside the house by covering it with a plate and went to attend to some domestic chore. But the child fell down and the steel appliance, too, toppled on her resulting in burn injuries.
Distraught parents shifted her to a private hospital in Saidabad and later to Niloufer Hospital. However, doctors suggested that the couple admit their child to OGH. Gafoor runs a grocery store near his house. The police registered a case and handed over the baby's body to the family after conducting an autopsy at the OGH mortuary.
