HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Sunday reiterated his Government's commitment to implement GO 610 in toto. "The Government will not go back on its promise of sincerely implementing the order," Dr. Reddy said, addressing an impressive gathering of Government employees after laying the foundation stone for construction of houses by Telangana NGOs cooperative housing society at Gachibowli here. "Noticing the anomalies in its implementation, the Government has accepted the Girglani Commission and the cabinet sub-committee report. The process of rectifying the mistakes has begun," he pointed out.
Non-locals
"Violations were noticed in police department and the process of sending back non-locals has been initiated," he said. "It will be difficult to immediately repatriate the non-locals to their respective districts," the Chief Minister said and pointed out that the Government has issued notification for recruitment of 5,000 police personnel. Dr. Reddy took a dig at TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao for raising a hue and cry over "injustice" to the youth of the region in employment. "He (Mr. Rao) enjoyed ministerial post for 12 years but never uttered a word about the injustice," he remarked. Announcing a number of sops, Dr. Reddy said every Government employee would own a house before they retired. "If necessary, the Government will acquire private land for construction of the houses," he added. Bank loans He said the Government would pay the interest rebate on the loans taken from commercial banks. Responding to plea from TNGO president D. Sudhakar and general secretary K. Swamy Goud, he said the new employees housing colony would be provided drinking water and sanitation, besides laying an approach road. Dr. Reddy said the 427-acre land alienated to the society was worth Rs. 7,500 crores as per the market rate. The union leaders said 10,000 employees belonging to the APNGOs and TNGOs association would benefit. Greater Hyderabad On a plea that employees of the municipalities adjoining the twin cities were getting reduced HRA after the Pay Revision Commission recommendations, Dr. Reddy said, the Greater Hyderabad case would be disposed of shortly. "Once this is done, all the Government employees in the twin cities will get 30 per cent HRA," he added. Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav also spoke.
