Bangalore: Yere Goud will lead Karnataka in its Ranji Trophy clash against Haryana commencing at the Gangotri Glades Ground at Mysore on December 1. Goud has got the BCCI's clearance to turn out for Karnataka this season as per a letter issued by the Board's chief administrative officer Prof. Ratnakar Shetty. In the letter, Prof. Shetty has mentioned that Goud's application for clearance has been approved by BCCI president Sharad Pawar and the secretary Niranjan Shah. Prof. Shetty's letter was in response to KSCA's earlier application for clearance issued on November 23. It may be recalled that Goud was forced to miss the opening tie against Baroda, which Karnataka lost by seven wickets at Vadodara last week. The KSCA's delay in sending across his relevant documents - including his No Objection Certificate (NOC) from his earlier team Railways - to the BCCI, had left Goud on the sidelines. Meanwhile Karnataka coach Venkatesh Prasad termed the loss to Baroda as a `disappointing one' and he attributed `season-opener nerves' to his side's sudden capitulation. "It was very disappointing to lose that match. I still cannot understand how it all happened. "Maybe the players were too keen and too enthusiastic, infact that's how they were for the two days prior to the game... maybe because of all that they got a little too tense," Prasad said.
