Minister for Cooperation G. Sudhakaran never misses an opportunity to take a dig at Government officials who loot the State exchequer. On Monday, the audience attending the inaugural function of the Pazhassi Fest in Kozhikode were witnesses to some of his familiar sound bytes. However, the crowd was also surprised to hear the Minister lecture on the history of revolutions in the world. His inaugural address was laced with history of Pazhassi Raja, scion of the Kottayam royal family, waging guerrilla warfare against the British army after mobilising the Kurichiyar tribe, quotations from philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau, ideals of French writer Francois Voltaire, Karl Marx and Josef Stalin. In fact one of the speakers, T. Devarajan Namboodiri while introducing the chief guest said Mr. Sudhakaran was the ``Lion of Democracy'' just as Pazhassi Raja was popularly known as ``Lion of Kerala''. But the best observation about Mr. Sudhakaran came from critic Sukumar Azhikode that he was the only Minister in the Cabinet who has poetic sensibility. He said this at a DYFI meeting in Kalpetta.
