Calling a truce

Film producers and actors have decided not to protest over the issue of the appearance of stars on television channels.

A meeting held recently in Kochi seems to have succeeded in settling the differences between the Kerala Film Producers Association and the Association of Malayali Movie Artistes. Actors will be allowed to participate in stage shows. Producers have stressed the need to regulate the appearance of stars in television programmes. The audience will not come to the theatres,the producers say.

However, the associations are divided on the action taken against some of the actors who participated in stage shows abroad.
