Computer laboratories promised

Maths teachers to be appointed from next academic year

    KADAPA: Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy on Tuesday promised to set up science and computer labs and libraries in all Urdu schools in Kadapa city. Urdu schools in Kadapa have strength of 2,500, though the city has a minority population of 80,000, he said, after inaugurating five classrooms built at a cost of Rs. 5.20 lakhs in Municipal Corporation Girls High School.

    Basic amenities were being provided in Urdu schools to promote literacy among minorities. He called for an attitudinal change among parents and urged them not to send their children to work but enrol them in schools.

    Calling upon students of Urdu schools to pursue higher education he assured them maths teachers would be appointed next year. He promised steps to secure Urdu textbooks from Hyderabad to tide over shortage. Mr. Reddy promised steps to establish Urdu Department in Yogi Vemana University.
