Poll panel's fiat to Ministers

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Election Commission on Tuesday asked Ministers, MLAs and other political leaders under the State Government's security and who are not locals to leave Karimnagar and Bobbili Lok Sabha constituencies by December 2 when the campaign ends.

Also MLAs, whose constituencies lie within the two Lok Sabha constituencies, have been asked to remain in their own segments. This follows complaints received by the Commission that a large number of Ministers and MLAs are camping in the constituencies and trying to influence voters. For the first time, the Election Commission has ordered drafting of a large number of Central Government employees for election duty.
