GBHS enters semifinals

HYDERABAD: Semifinalists were spotted in the inter-school football tournament for the Sudhakar memorial trophy at the Trimulgherry village grounds here on Saturday.

Government Boys High School (Trimulgherry) entered the semifinal after being locked in a goalless draw in today's match against St. Patrick's School. But both the teams qualified for the knockout phase.

In another match, St. Andrews High School `A' and Valerian Grammar School were locked in a one-all draw with Suhail Deep Singh scoring the former and Suraj for the latter. Both the teams entered the last four stage.

8-wkt. win for HMWSSB

HMWSSB recorded an eight-wicket win against Manchester in the A-Division (one-day) knockout cricket tournament here.

The scores (A-Division one-day knockout): Manchester 86 (Shyam Sunder five for 38) lost to HMWSSB 87 for two.

B-Division one-day knockout: XI Masters 126 (Rayees Anwar five for 30, Sayed Bin Ali Jaidi five for 35) lost to Noble 130 for four (Md. Khaja Nizamuddin 51, Ahmed Amjad Hussain 53 not out).

HCA selections

The Hyderabad Cricket Association informed in a statement that the selections for the State under-13 team will be conducted at Gymkhana Grounds on Nov. 30 from 2.30 pm. The teams that did not take part in the inter-schools (under-13) tournament for Bro. John of God Trophy, can send two of their best players for the trials along with age proof certificates.

Balraj to officiate

M. Balraj, general secretary of AP Gymnastics Association, has been named as manager of the Indian team that will take part in the 15th Asian Games in Doha from Dec 1 to 15 according to a press release. Y. Ram Mohan from the City has been named as one of the jury members for the Doha Asiad.

Crosscountry race

The Hyderabad District Athletic Association will organise crosscountry races on Dec. 3. For particulars contact: 9246529013/ 23395101.

Football selections

The Andhra Pradesh Women's Football Association will organise selection trials on Dec 5 at Lal Bahadur Stadium from 7 a.m to pick the State team for the junior National (under-19) championship to be held at Pondicherry. For details contact 23234433.

Anitha, Vikesh to Asiad

Two players from Andhra Pradesh — K. Anitha and M. Vikesh Kumar, will represent India in the sepak takraw event of the Doha Asian Games. D. Srinivas will be the coach of the Indian team.
