A day of learning and laughter

KAKINADA: Saturday was an unforgettable day of learning and laughter for 30 children from anganwadi centres in Ramanayyapet. The Nalanda Vidya Niketan's `Discover the Kiddies Kingdom week', became a hub of frenzied activity as children swarmed the premises to be part of the celebration.

For the bright and bubbly anganwadi children, the programme was a rare treat, as many of them had never sung songs, rhymes or read books. A play on the theme `United we stand, divided we fall', was depicted through the story of `Hunter and the birds' organised by art teachers Vijayakumar and Viswesara Rao. Besides a sumptuous lunch, the school also gave the children gifts.
