Man dies in road accident

MACHILIPATNAM: A 58-year-old man died on the spot when the motorcycle he was riding on was hit by an RTC bus at Hussain Palem on Machilipatnam-Gudivada road on Tuesday.

The Machilipatnam rural police said that the accident occurred when Parasa Arjunudu of Peda Nandamuru was on his way to home from Machilipatnam on his motorcycle. An RTC bus from Tiruvuru, which was coming in the opposite direction, hit the motorcycle, killing Arjunudu on the spot. Arjunudu's wife Venkayamma (50), who was pillion-riding, escaped with injuries. She was sent to Government hospital for treatment and is stated to be in a stable condition.
