THRISSUR: Aircraft remains were trawled up by fishermen on Monday night off the coast in Chavakkad near here. The debris included a portion of the fuselage and the tail section. The police said fishermen, on a boat owned by Kabir of Chavakkad, fished out the wreckage in their nets about 25 km from the coast. "We were surprised to find wreckage in the nets,'' said one of the fishermen. They alerted fellow fishermen in the coast. Two more boats were taken to the spot and the remains brought to the coast at Munakkakadavu. K.V. Abdul Khader, MLA, and K.V. Ummerkunju, Kadappuram panchayat president, visited the spot.
