Revenue district youth fete begins in Thrissur

Formal inauguration today by Therambil Ramakrishnan

THRISSUR: The Thrissur Revenue District Higher Secondary Schools Youth Festival began at CMS School here on Tuesday.

The festival would be formally inaugurated here on Wednesday at 9.30 a.m. by Therambil Ramakrishnan, MLA.

Playback singer Jyotsna will be the chief guest. District panchayat president K. Sreekumar will preside.

The inaugural function will be followed by competitions in Mohiniyattom, Kerala Natanam, Parichamuttukali, Arabanamuttu, Daffumuttu, Kolkkali, Monoact, Mimicry, Koodiyattom, Chakyarkoothu, instrumental music, orchestra, group music and theatre.

The following are the results of some of the competitions held on Tuesday (in the order of first, second and third prizes):

Kathakali Sangeetham (girls): Varsha Vikram, Government Model Boys HSS, Chalakudy; Remya R. Menon, NHSS, Irinjalakuda; T.S. Sreedevi, Model Boys' VHSS, Kunnamkulam;

Kathakali Sangeetham (boys): Shivraj Chandran, St. Mary's HSS, Irinjalakuda; D. Rajeevan, Panjal Government HSS, Panjal; P. S. Sreebin, SRKGVN HSS, Puranattukara

Classical Music (girls): Sreepriya Subramania, Vivekodayam BHSS, Thrissur; Linu Babu, Chaldean Syrian HSS, Thrissur; M.K. Neethu, Government HSS, Peechi.
