ANANTAPUR: The three-day international conference held jointly by the Department of Geography of Sri Krishnadevaraya University and Indian Geographical Society on "Natural Hazards and Disasters - Local to Global Perspectives" on the university campus here from November 25 to 27 has made several suggestions to the Government and research agencies. The conference urged the Government and research organisations in the country to set up a Centre for Hazards and Disaster Research in the university to bring together the expertise available in the academic disciplines. Such a centre should initiate curriculum development with inter-disciplinary focus, should start courses admitting students from different disciplines and take up research projects.
