ANANTAPUR: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) staged a `rasta roko' here on Tuesday protesting the indiscriminate lathi-charge on the workers of unorganised sector when they were picketing collectorates at Kurnool, Kadapa, Ongole, Nalgonda and Eluru on Monday. Led by district president and secretaries of the organisation B. Lalithamma and M. Imtiaz, the activists blocked traffic near the over-bridge for more than half-an-hour. They alleged that the Congress Government too was neglecting the problems of working community as the previous TDP Government had done. Efforts of the Government to suppress the movement with police force would never succeed, they said and warned that the Government would meet the same fate as the previous Government if it continued with anti-worker policies.
