SETO appeal to Left organisations

KOLLAM: The State Employees and Teachers Organisation (SETO) has called upon the pro-Left service organisations to join the December 12 strike by teachers and State employees. Inaugurating a SETO meeting here on Tuesday, State secretary of the NGO Association Puvattur Ravi said the strike was part of a fight to earn the justified rights of employees and teachers. — Staff Reporter

Office-bearers elected

KOLLAM: N.E. Manoharan and K.G. Ajit Kumar have been elected president and secretary respectively of the Malayala Prasadaka Sangham. The other office-bearers are N. Award for Raman Namboodiri

THRISSUR: Speaker K. Radhakrishnan will present the Vaidya Vachaspathi Award for lifetime achievement to K.R. Raman Namboodiri here on Thursday.

The award will be presented at a public reception for Dr. Namboodiri on his 60th birthday.

Dr. Namboodiri has authored nearly 20 books and 3,000 articles on various aspects of Ayurveda, says a press release. — Staff Reporter

ALAPPUZHA: The Kerala Catholic Youth Movement Manakkodam Forane committee is organising a dharna before Alappuzha district collectorate on Wednesday at 10.30 a.m. to protest against the illegal mining of sand from Andhakaranazhi in the district, said committee president K.J.
