P. Parameswaran to open ABVP State meet

Theme is `Student power for a Kerala free of terrorism.'

PATHANAMTHITTA: The 26th annual State meet of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will be held in Pandlam from November 30 to December 3.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, ABVP State secretary V.P.Rajeevan said that Bharatiya Vichara Kendram director P. Parameswaran would formally inaugurate the annual meet at 9.30 a.m. on December 1. According to him, the slogan of the 26th annual meet will be `Student power for a Kerala free of terrorism'. The public meeting to be held, after a colourful procession, in Pandalam town will be inaugurated by ABVP national general secretary K.N.Reghunandan.

A seminar on `Problems facing the State's self-financing education sector' will be held on December 2.

Vice-Chancellor of the Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University, Kalady, K.S.Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the seminar. ABVP national joint secretary B. Surendra and representatives of various self-financing college managements will also participate in the seminar.

The four-day State meet will come to a close on December 3.
