Meeting with officials of all departments to be held soon

  • Municipal Commissioner authorised to invite tenders
  • Over 30 government departments to put up stalls

Kakinada: Annual agricultural and industrial exhibition will be organised at the Raja tank premises here for 42 days from December 23.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the exhibition society held here under the chairmanship of Collector M. Subrahmanyam. While authorising the Municipal Commissioner, who is also convenor of the society, to invite tenders for arranging the exhibition, the Collector directed him to extend invitations to new organisations also along with the regular units to participate in the exhibition. The Collector asked the Commissioner to keep in the blacklist two contactors -- Kalidindi R.S. Raju and N.V.V. Satyanarayana who defaulted the auctioned amount in the previous exhibition.

    Special stall

The Collector said that a meeting with all the departmental officials would be held soon to ensure their participation in the exhibition. He said efforts would be made to ensure that more than 30 government departments would open their stalls.

A special stall would also be opened in the exhibition to focus the attention of the public on the importance of the 108 MRI ambulance service. It was decided at the meeting to organise cultural programmes daily in the evening as a special attraction to visitors.

P.S.R.K. Thimmaji Rao, exhibition society treasurer, suggested that another exhibition should not be allowed to be organised at Ananda Bharati grounds during the exhibition days. The Collector agreed to the suggestion to nominate Y.D. Rama Rao as honorary secretary of the society in place of Peda Kapu who is unable to spare his time owing to old age. Municipal Commissioner K. Venkateswerlu was present.
