KOZHIKODE : Governor R.L. Bhatia will inaugurate the valedictory function of the one-year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations of the St. Joseph's College, Devagiri, here on November 30 morning. Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, College principal Joseph Vayalil said Mr. Bhatia would also inaugurate the Golden Jubilee Insurance Scheme introduced for all students of the college, funded by the Parent-Teacher Association of the College and also distribute the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme for students who showed their talent in various fields. The Governor would also release the CD on the jubilee celebrations programmes. Jubilee committee convener Philip K. Antony and committee secretary Charly Kattakkayam said Minister for Forest Benoy Viswom, Minister for Industry Elamaram Kareem and M.P. Veerendrakumar, MP, would attend the function.
Exhibition
All-India science, technology and cultural exhibition, cultural programmes that lasted for a week, national-level seminars, women's conference, agriculture seminar, alumni meet and Onam feast were some the programmes held during the year. Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Indian Coast Guard director general Prabhakar Paleri, social activist Medha Patker, Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, director Krishnakumar, M.G. University Vice-Chancellor Jancy James, Calicut University Vice-Chancellor Syed Iqbal Hasnain and film personalities attended the various programmes organised as part of the celebrations.
