GADAG: The situation in Shirahatti in Gadag district, where prohibitory orders were clamped on Monday midnight following an assault on the town panchayat president Humayun Magadi, was normal on Tuesday. The police have arrested 11 persons, including three women, in connection with the incident. Mr. Magadi was allegedly assaulted by few women on Monday. Later, Mr. Magadi's supporters assaulted persons belonging to the other community. Police intervened, dispersed the crowd and brought the situation under control. According to sources, four persons, including Mr. Magadi, have been injured in the incident. The assault on Mr. Magadi was said to be the result of complaints about poor quality of work related to a government scheme. Few days ago Mr. Magadi and a contractor had reportedly abused some persons who asked information on a particular government scheme. Deputy Superintendent of Police J.
