`Noor' Nirankari dead

NEW DELHI: Joginder Singh `Noor', a leading member of the Sant Nirankari Mandal's Working Committee, passed away in the Capital over the weekend. He was popularly known as `Noor' Nirankari.

Closely related to the holy family, `Noor' Nirankari was the younger brother of the former Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission Baba Gurbachan Singhji Maharaj. Born on August 10, 1939, he was associated with the Mission right from his childhood. He was formally inducted as a `Gyan Pracharak' in 1977.

The funeral took place at the electric crematorium on Monday.

NIFT convention

NEW DELHI: National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi, organised an industry convention at India International Centre here this past week.

Speaking on the occasion, NIFT Director General Gauri Kumar emphasised the need to strengthen the collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship between NIFT and the fashion industry through progressive new initiatives.

Polish exhibition

NEW DELHI: An exhibition titled "Polish Science of the 20th Century" showcasing the profiles of Polish scientists and their achievements opened here on Tuesday.

The exhibition has being organised by National Science Centre in association with Sangeet Natak Akademi, Ministry of Culture, National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Poland, Embassy of Republic of Poland and Adam Mickiewicz Institute.

Bronze medal winner

NEW DELHI: CI Network Technologies Private Limited won the bronze medal in the "best technical display" at the India International Trade Fair in Pragati Maidan here.

Besides offering cameras, network video products, digital video recorders and video security electronic products; CINT creates awareness about security solutions to counter threat perceptions.

Water supply to be affected

NEW DELHI: Due to repair work, water supply will be affected on Thursday evening and morning of Friday in large parts of the Capital including Raja Garden, Rajouri Garden, Kirti Nagar, Ramesh Nagar, Ashok Vihar, Hari Nagar, besides Khyala, Varun Niketan, Rani Bagh, J.J. Colony, Karampura, Mansarover Garden, Sharda Puri, Saraswati Garden, Tagore Garden, Punjabi Bagh, Subhash Nagar, Ashok Vihar, Jail Road and Tilak Nagar.

Water supply will also be affected on Thursday evening and morning of December 1 in Mayur Vihar Phase-I and Phase-II, Kalyanpuri, Trilokpuri, Mandawali Village, Preet Vihar and Patparganj Society and I.P. Extension.
