Court quashes summons against Amitabh

PANAJI:
A District and Sessions Court here on Tuesday stayed an order of the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court which had issued summons to mega star Amitabh Bachchan and four others to be present in the court on Wednesday for breaching the provisions of the Goa Prohibition of Smoking and Spitting Act, 1997 and the Central anti-tobacco promotion legislation.
The Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL), one of the accused, filed a revision application before the Sessions court on Monday praying that the pending the hearing and disposal of revision application, the process issued by JMFC be stayed, and an ad interim ex-party relief be granted to the respondents. The matter has been fixed for hearing on December 5.
