Woman held with heroin

Husband too has been convicted in a narcotics case

NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old woman was arrested near Nangloi-Najafgarh Road in West Delhi on Monday by the Narcotics Branch of the Delhi police on charges of possessing heroin. The police claim to have recovered 510 gm of heroin from her possession.

According to the police, Renu's husband Joginder has been convicted in a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act case and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, besides a fine of Rs. 60,000.

During interrogation, Renu purportedly disclosed that her mother-in-law Kamlesh, father-in-law Arvind and brother-in-law Deepak are also involved drug trafficking cases.

One of Renu's sisters is married into the same family and her husband Bhola is also into drug peddling. Her other sister's husband Rakesh was earlier arrested by the Narcotics Branch and was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.

Her mother-in-law was also convicted in a case and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
