School van mishap: student still critical

NEW DELHI: One of the students of Central School, who was seriously injured when a over-speeding Tata Sumo rammed into their school van at Keshavpuram in North-West Delhi on Monday, is still in a critical condition.

Sachin, whose elder brother Sunny was killed in the accident, is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Max Hospital after being operated upon. Another student, Shubham, was discharged on Tuesday, while Sakshi Aggarwal has been kept under observation. The fourth student, Vibha, was discharged on Monday.

The accident had occurred around 6-45 a.m. on Monday when the students were being ferried in the Maruti van to their school located at Keshavpuram A-2 Block. The van crossed Prem Bari bridge and was negotiating a right turn when the speeding Sumo allegedly jumped the traffic signal and hit the vehicle. Some of the children were thrown out of the van due to the impact of the collision.
