SHIMLA: The Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has on Wednesday denied the accusations of the Opposition that he is the "godfather" of the suspended ADGP of State Mr. B.S. Thind. At a press conference here today he said, "The opposition is making an issue out of nothing. The corruption was at its peak during the BJP regime and the then Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal was the patron of all such activities." The suspended ADGP B.S. Thind of Himachal Police, facing charges of cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy, had allegedly written a letter containing names of some prominent persons including that of legal experts and police officials and pleading them to contact his "godfather" for his release. The leader of opposition BJP Prem Kumar Dhumal has alleged that Thind calls the Chief Minister his "godfather". Mr. Singh however said that he is the godfather of everyone in the State except the criminals.
