Ghaziabad: Police have registered an FIR against the chairman of a private school here following a complaint by the parents of a class XI girl who allegedly committed suicide on being accused by the management of stealing Rs 5,000, a charge she had denied. The FIR was lodged in Kotwali police station yesterday against Charan Singh Yadav, chairman of Ghaziabad Public School at Nehru Nagar following a complaint by the girl's father Kamal Kishore Jindal, police said on Wednesday. The girl's body was found by her parents in their Vijay Nagar house last Friday and she had allegedly consumed `Sulphos' (a pesticide), the FIR said. Mr. Jindal alleged Yadav's wife, who is the school principal, on November 21 accused the student of stealing Rs. 5,000 and the money was later recovered from an empty desk in a classroom. Yadav slapped Umang and both of them "insulted" her due to which she committed suicide, he claimed in the FIR. Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Mordia has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
