Arun hits century

HYDERABAD: Arun Kumar's century (110, 14 x 4) and Prithvi Raj's unbeaten 91 enabled Mysore University record a 280-run win over Kuvempu in the South Zone inter-university cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Osmania faces Mysore at OU `A' ground, while defending champion Madras takes on Karnatak at PG College of Science, Secunderbad, both games starting at 9 a.m.

The scores:

Bharathiar University 255 (Steejan 62, Abdul Rehman 81; Ashish Kumar five for 28) lost to Osmania 260 for seven (Shamiullah Khan 81 not out).

Bangalore 147 (Krishnachandran 51 not out; Ashok Wodder five for 25) lost to Karnatak 151 for three (Diraj Shabadi 67, I. Nayeem 48).

Mysore 401 (Arun Kumar 110, Manjunath S.P. 47, Prithvi Raj 91 not out, Akshay 47 not out) bt Kuvempu 121. — Special Correspondent
