Double century by Naveen

HYDERABAD: L. Naveen Kumar's unbeaten double century (206 not out, 34 x 4) featured in Saroj's thumping victory over Amberpet in the `A' division two-day Hyderabad Cricket Association league championship match here on Wednesday.

The scores:

A division two days: Amberpet 145 (K. Vinay Kumar 50, L. Naveen Kumar seven for 28) and 110 for five (K. Vinay 52 not out) lost to Saroj 470 for five (L. Naveen Kumar 206 not out, R.C. Rahul 144, Md. Shafiq 45).

Suraj scores two goals

Right inside Suraj's brace enabled Valerian Grammar School post a 2-0 win over St. Patricks in the Sudhakar Memorial inter school football tournament at the Trimulgherry Village ground here on Wednesday.

At half-time the winner led 1-0. Suraj found the net again 10 minutes into the latter half.

In Thursday's final, Valerian will meet St. Andrews A, a 1-0 winner over Government Boys High School, Trimulgherry.

Right out Sandeep scored the winner in the 15th minute of the first half off a pass from right half Clinton Amalraj.

Century by Sandeep

R. Sandeep's century (152, 22 x 4) enabled Sportive defeat Mahmood by 187 runs in the Hyderabad Cricket Association's `B' division one-day knockout tournament match here on Wednesday.

B division one-day: Sportive 305 for nine (R. Sandeep 152, P.L. Ajay 52, T.O. Dheeraj 57) bt Mahmood 118 (John 53; Sunil L. five for 11).

Shamnagar 194 (Irfan Ahmed 97, B.H. Raj four for 18) lost to Lal Bahadur 196 for five (Chakravarthy 49 not out, Vijay Anand 41).

Superstars 257 for six (Sandeep 60, P.R. Goud 65) bt Rushiraj 170 (Rasheed 36; Prithvi Raj five for 29).

Victory 256 for nine (Ilyas 65, Shafeeq 56, Rayees Anwar five for three, Sayeed four for 28) bt Noble 155 (Irfan 65; Kazmi five for 27).

Tennikoit championship

The sub-junior National tennikoit championship for boys and girls under 14 years and the second Federation Cup championship for men and women will be held at the Victory Play Ground indoor stadium from December 23 to 27. About 23 States from across the country are expected to take part.

Basketball

coaching

The Andhra Pradesh Basketball Association (APBA) will conduct coaching camps for the following probables at the YMCA and Gymkhana courts, both in Secunderabad, from December 5 to 24.

On conclusion of the camps the State teams for the senior National basketball championships in Rajasthan will be selected.

The Mento Sports Fest-2006 inter-district school meet for mentally challenged children, organised by the Aathmeeya Manasika Vikasa Kendram will be inaugurated by Venkateshwara Reddy, Senior Civil Judge, Civil Court, Ranga Reddy at the Sarojini Cricket and Fitness Academy, Baghlingampally on Thursday at 9.45 a.m..
