HYDERABAD: The Tirumala Tirupati Samrakshana (protection) Samiti has criticised the State Government for failing to fulfil its promise of issuing orders declaring that the seven hills at Tirumala were under the jurisdiction of TTD and on other demands raised by devotees and sadhus on July 15. Somaraju Susheela, vice-president, and S. Lakshmidevi, spokesperson, at a press conference here on Wednesday, said barring the oral assurance that the seven hills were under the control of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala, the Government had failed to issue orders, as demanded by the samiti. The samiti favoured scrapping of G.O. 335 which mentioned that only two Tirumala hills were under TTD's jurisdiction. It wanted a resolution on seven hills passed in the ensuing session of the Assembly.

They said the session should also enact a law banning "propagation'' of other faiths in Tirumala limits, alleging that missionary activities were on the rise in the temple town for the past two years.
