Short, Harika triumph

P. K. Ajith Kumar

MUMBAI: In the end, one point separated Nigel Short from 164 players. It was such a fine performance that even the man himself couldn't help saying, "For a 41-year-old it's not bad, is it?" Third seed Sandipan Chanda, who agreed to a quick draw with M.R. Venkatesh, took the runner-up spot with eight points. D.
