Two Nepalese arrested, jewellery recovered

BANGALORE: The Vijayanagar police have recovered gold ornaments and electronic goods, estimated at Rs. 1.25 lakh, by arresting two Nepali Gorkhas.

The two gorkhas had allegedly burgled several houses, shops and offices.

The police gave the names of the arrested as Narbhahdur alias Arjun (30) and Bijay Singh (34), both residents of Andrahalli in 2nd Stage, Peenya.

The police said the two along with five other Nepali gorkhas had burgled houses, shops and offices in Bidadi, Mahalakshmi Layout, Rajagopalanagar, Kamakshipalya, Banasawadi and Vijayanagara police station limits.

The police are on the lookout for five others.

Narabhahdur was earlier accused in five cases of murder and six cases of burglary.

While he was acquitted in all the cases, he was convicted in an attempt to steal case in Upparpet police station limits.

Narabahaddur had served the sentence, the police said.
