Residues limits for 16 more pesticides notified

NEW DELHI : The Union Health Ministry has issued a notification to amend Rule 65 of the Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1955 relating to maximum residues limit/tolerance limits for pesticides/insecticides in different articles of food.

The rule prescribes the maximum tolerance residue level of 121 insecticides/pesticides in different articles of food. By this notification, the maximum residues limits for 16 more pesticides have been prescribed. These rules have come into force from the date their publication in the Gazette of India on 13.10.2006.
