Hong Kong holds India

DOHA: Pradeep Papachan's stunning long-ranger in the 89th minute almost clinched it for India, but Hong Kong struck back in the dying moments of the three-minute injury period to draw 1-1 in a group `D' football match of the Asian Games at the Al-Gharrafa Stadium here on Wednesday.

Siu Ki Chan came up with a remarkable header to strike parity, much to the disbelief of the Indian team that had generally struggled to make an impact.

Defending champion Iran and Maldives are the other teams in the group with India.

The toppers from the six groups will qualify along with two other second placed teams. — Special Correspondent
