Seema back from Muscat

NEW DELHI: Woman discus thrower Seema Antil has returned from Muscat where part of the Indian athletics team had been training for the Doha Asian Games.

The circumstances that led to Seema's return are not clear, but the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) Secretary, Lalit Bhanot, said on Thursday that the athlete's father had "suffered a heart attack" forcing her to rush back home. "She will be going back," he added.

Seema who holds the national record at 64.64 metres, has not been in form of late, failing to touch 60m since the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in March. — Special Correspondent
