Sreerangammal wins
At Coimbatore, R.K. Sreerangammal Kalvi Nilayam scored a six-wicket win over fancied Sree Jayendra Saraswathi Vidyalaya MHSS in the final of the CDCA non-age group inter-schools cricket tournament, for the Saravana Jewellers Trophy, at the Forest College grounds here on Thursday. After restricting its opponent to 124 for nine in 45 overs, Sreerangammal knocked off the required runs in 39.4 overs, losing four wickets. The scores: Sree Jayendra Saraswathi 124 for nine in 45 overs lost to R.K. Sreerangammal 125 for four in 39.4 overs (Kirubakaran 53).
Ball badminton meet
The first State-level ball badminton tournament for the K.N.M. Bala-Deep Rolling Trophy, to be jointly organised by Suresh Fives and KNM Trust, will begin at the district ball badminton grounds (opposite Nehru Stadium) here on December 2.
