NEW DELHI: Delhi Development and Environment Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan on Thursday gave approval to various long pending developmental projects including community centres, barat ghars, setting up of a hospital and a primary school in the Badarpur Assembly constituency represented by Nationalist Congress Party MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri. The approval came at an high level meeting convened by Mr. Chauhan at the instance of Mr. Bidhuri at Delhi Secretariat to sort out various issues that had been lying pending or were awaiting approval for various reasons for the past two to five years. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit had also intervened in the matter and had directed Mr. Chauhan that developmental projects of the Badarpur constituency submitted by Mr. Bidhuri should be cleared without any further delay. Giving this information here, Mr. Bidhuri said a major project for setting up a hospital project at Molar Bund village in the constituency, pending for the last three years, was given the formal clearance paving way for starting the construction work on the project. In addition to the hospital, staff quarters would also be located at the same site to ensure smooth functioning of the medical set up. Similarly, he said the long pending demand of the people of Badarpur constituency had been accepted with the sanction of three barat ghars at Mithapur, Molar Bund and Tajpur villages. Mr. Chauhan has cleared the allotment of 5,000 sq metres of land with an initial financial sanction of Rs. 1.5 crores for starting the construction work on the three projects. Apart from this, a huge chunk of Gram Sabha land had been sanctioned and formally cleared for construction of three community centres at Molar Bund, Tajpur and Mithapur villages. Mr. Chauhan also gave clearance for allotment of 4,000 sq metres of land for setting up a primary school at Mithapur village and another stretch of 1,000 sq metres of land in the same village for setting up an Underground reservoir. Mr. Bidhuri thanked both the CM as well as Mr. Chauhan for taking personal interest in clearing these major projects for the biggest re-settlement colony in Asia.
