TIRUCHI: A large number of devotees from different parts of the country witnessed the `Satabhishekam' of the 45th Jeer of the Sri Ahobila Mutt, Sri Narayana Yateendra Mahadesikan, at the Sri Dasavatara Sannidhi at Srirangam, on Thursday. Special `aradana' was performed on the occasion, and temple honours from Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy temple, Sri Venkatachalapathy temple in Tirupati, Sri Varadaraja Perumal temple in Kancheepuram, Sri Sampathkumarar temple in Tirunarayanapuram and Sri Aravamudan temple in Kumbakonam were offered to the Jeer. The Jeer honoured about 1,500 vedic and sastra pandits to mark the `satabhishekam.' On behalf of the devotees, a holy umbrella, made of silver, was offered to the Mutt on the occasion. Former Prime Minister H. Deva Gowda along with his family members, and former Attorney General K. Parasaran were among those who witnessed the satabhishekam.
