Book fair begins today

KOCHI: The 10th International Book Festival will begin here on Friday. Writer U.R. Anantamurthy will inaugurate the festival at 4 p.m. at the Siva Temple Grounds. S. Sarma, Minister for Fisheries, will release the festival bulletin. - Staff Reporter

Stand still at Vypeen

Kochi: Residents of Vypeen will observe World AIDS Day on Friday by stopping work for two minutes to express solidarity with the people afflicted with HIV/AIDS. At 11 a.m., all trade and commercial units, schools, offices and vehicles will stop for two minutes.
