Bangalore: It promises to aid travelling executives in the era of mobile offices and bridge the last missing link. For, the future generation printers are likely to shrink in size when compared to that of traditional printers. The first of its kind will be introduced in the country shortly.
`Design runners'
Proposed to be introduced in India by Sweden-based company Print Dreams in collaboration with an Indian company yet to be identified, the "design runners" would become the first generation of small sized printers that would eventually pave the way to "print brush" that would come in handy for the travelling executives. Operated by re-chargeable batteries, the "design runners" weigh around 200 gm. The Print Dreams, using RMPT Technology, has integrated the functionality of desktop printer, which had more than 300 mechanical parts into one single PCB board solution.

The RMPT technology has been developed and patented by Print Dreams that enables them to make a range of devices, which significantly reduce the cost and size of printing solutions. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Print Dreams Alex Breton told presspersons here on Thursday that these new generation printers would not replace the conventional printers and they would only compliment the existing ones by providing convenience to the users."
