BANGALORE: The Citizens Action Forum for Greater Bangalore, a group of 120 residents welfare organisations, has urged the State Government to extend the last date for filing objections to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) proposal. The forum will submit a letter seeking an extension of the last date to Chief Secretary Malathi Das on Thursday. The Government, which had notified the BBMP proposal on November 2, asked people to submit objections and suggestions on the proposal within 30 days of the notification. People have two more days to file objections. "There should be transparency in forming BBMP and the subject should be discussed and debated widely," forum's chief coordinator N.S. Mukund said. Mr. Mukund told presspersons that the Government had only announced through the media that Greater Bangalore would be formed by merging seven CMCs, one TMC and 111 villages. "We have no clue on how this amalgamation would achieve improved city administration or better traffic management, water supply or sanitation?"
