Hearing on grade separator sought

Malleswaram Swabhimana Initiative has urged the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike administrator Dilip Rau to hold a public adalat to discuss the issue of Malleswaram grade separator. "We have shown them the sketches with the changes we have proposed to the grade separator. He assured us that he will speak to the engineers and get back to us again," Sumathi Rao, president of the organisation, said.

Candlelight prcession

Support, a project to care of HIV/AIDS positive persons launched by Sumanahalli Society, and Y's Men International, have organised a candlelight procession in the city on Friday to mark International AIDS Day. Fr. George Kannanthanam, Director, Sumanahalli Society, told presspersons here on Thursday that the procession would be the culmination of a weeklong awareness campaign covering six villages in Magadi taluk and six slums in the city.

Water adalat

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will conduct "water adalat" on Friday at the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer East 1 sub-division at Frazer Town. The programme will be held between 9.30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Film festival

Nani Cinematheque, in association with Bangalore Film Society and Collective Chaos and Films for Freedom, will showcase three films of Kundan Shah from Friday to Sunday. The films are being showcased as a part of Cinematheque's monthly programme "Eye for India." On Friday, the film "Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa" will be screened. This will be followed by the screening of "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron" on Saturday and "Teen Bahenein" on Sunday. For details, call 25492774.

BSNL Open House

Open House sessions will be held at all offices of BSNL Area Managers and Deputy General Managers (Rural) of Bangalore Telecom on December 2 at 10 a.m. Customers can get their grievances redressed at these meetings and present suggestions for improving services.
