KATHMANDU: Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon wrapped up his Nepal visit on Friday. At a press conference here before returning to New Delhi, he said: "As ever, India is ready to support all efforts aimed at promoting peace, democracy and development in Nepal." Asked about the international community's role in consolidating peace, he said: "U.N. or any third party cannot replace a political will here." "We don't define our role unilaterally. Nepal decides what we can decide for her." Asked why he did not meet Maoists leaders, he said, "I think there is a time and place for each thing. When time comes we will meet them."
