Rupee ends higher

MUMBAI: The rupee recovered smartly against the U.S. unit on Friday and ended at 44.6550/6650 a dollar due to steep fall in the U.S. currency against euro.

In a active trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian currency started the day sharply high at 44.63/65. After hitting an intra-trading low of 44.71, it ended at 44.6550/6650 a dollar, still sharply higher than Thursday's close of 44.73/74.
