NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj plans to introduce a private member's bill on Telangana statehood in the Rajya Sabha. She has also written to President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Home Minister Shivraj Patil in this regard. "The people of the region have been agitating for a separate State for quite long. Their aspirations of development can be fulfilled only by creating a separate State of Telangana," she said in her letter to dr. Abdul Kalam. The BJP leader told reporters here on friday that she had given notice to the Rajay Sabha Secretary-General regarding her proposal on introduction of the State of Telangana Bill-2006 during the current session.
