Rise in number of passport applicants

Two-day mega camp gets under way


Increased opportunities in Gulf one of reasons for the trend
  • Over 2,000 applications cleared on first day

    Rajahmundry: Abhilash Joshi, Regional Passport Officer, Visakhapatnam, has said conceptual change after globalisation has increased the number of passport applicants in the State. Inaugurating a passport camp on Friday, he said since 2000 the office had received 78,000 applications. Of them, 71,000 were fgiven to persons from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East and West Godavari districts.
